I fail to be amazed anymore at the stupidity and ignorance of people.

"Police officers arrived at the house where they discovered 2.2mm rifle rounds, up to 30 machine gun rounds, shotgun cartridges, and a cache of 9mm and 8mm rounds."

"Safe: Despite the thousands of bullets that were found [in the decorative backyard pond], the police did not feel the need to evacuate the couple"

"We have friends with young children who could have put one of the bullets in their mouth, or one of our cats could have got hold of one - it doesn’t bear thinking about.

We were planning to be in this house for years - now we want to move out as soon as we can."

Sad that such a beautiful woman and reasonable looking guy could be that STUPID...!!!!

Too bad we can't invite them (or at least her, anyway  ) over here to an afternoon at the range for a little education and perspective.

If they are that afraid of cartridges, They'd wet themselves (or worse  ) at a range with GUNS actually being fired.

Well, the reporting manner was very typical of the British and American news media. Water logged ammo, and they call it dangerous. You know, we need a license to drive a car, and that requires testing. Seems that reporters should be licensed and required to pass a test to ensure they have at least a little intelligence.

Lost for words
I'm not. One immediately came to mind: Over-reaction. By the renter, his friends, the police and the certainly... the media.

I don't have a cat but I do have a dog. Should I be concerned that she has daily access to both my loading room and the room where store my long guns?

Worse yet, they breed and vote! At least in this country! When I lived in CA I always tried to talk my co-workers out of voting... at least those left leaning nincompoops!

Shhhh....!!! They think they're just bullets; don't frighten them any further. If they knew they were cartridges, they'd run for their lives, especially since some of them were MACHINE GUN cartridges... :o :o

If their kitty-cat ate those, it would be full-auto chaos.

Only if the dog pees on one of your guns. Let me tell you, I decided to never lend a firearm again, outside my immediate area, after I got one back that had been peed on. It will rust up blued metal in a heartbeat, and is murder on the stock.

Flabbergasted, at the very least. The couple look reasonably intelligent so it must be what Ray Newman says, or words to the effect of "the dumbing down of the shooting sports".

I can picture myself finding that cache. I would not tell anyone until I got it all out to see if any of it was worth anything.

They find one bullet and get all excited. (and scared) I sure hope that someday these type of people don't buy my house as they will be in the surprise of their lives. I really don't think there is a sq. foot of ground that don't have some kind of a projectile imbedded in it. --------6

Looks like them thar brits is raisin' up a nice herd of slaves to service the factories, fileds, mines, and brothels of the next Fuhrer, Kaiser, Duce, Czar, Caliph, Ayatollah, President, Premiere, Ubermann, or whatever they choose to call the next conquerer of Europe.

With some consideration, I suppose all they're really doing is providing a complimentary glimpse at our own future.

:?
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.
