Wow, this dog hunts!!!

Post by centershot »

After checking out a 223 Rem. T/C Venture belonging to a friend, I said to myself "Hey! You've been thinking about an '06 anyway, go get one!" So I did. Availability of reloading components here is spotty, couldn't find anything useful, so I bought 3 boxes of Remington150 grain Core-Lokt factory loads. Mounted and bore-sighted a Nikon 3-9 on it and took it to the range today......WOW!!! T/C claims under 1" groups with this rifle, and they ain't kidding! Five shots at 100 yards clustered into a jagged little 3/4" hole! I'll be hard pressed to improve on that with handloads! WOW! Best $400 bucks I ever spent!

Yeah, I know, pictures, pictures, pictures...... I never think to take the camera to the range with me. As I said before, it's a Thompson/Center Venture, 30/06, blue steel, synthetic stock. Not a gorgeous rifle, as in nice wood and all that, but I've always put function before beauty. and this one is a keeper for sure!
