Can still shoot my guns anyway

Post by Pitchy »

After finding I couldn`t pull my bow because of a bad shoulder I went out and shot my new Browning 86 in 45-70 and my new Stampede 45 LC.

About ten paces with the pistol.

You need a heavier bullet to bring your POI up  What loads you shooting in them? The '86 looks like it has a little kick to it.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

250 Grain bullet over 8 grains of Uniuqe, not bad for fast one handed shooting from a blind old fanny burp.

Enjoyed the video. Good to see that '86 SRC being fired. I had mine to the range yesterday. Great minds think alike! 8)

Out of curiosity, what poundage was the bow you were shooting? Recurves and long bows tend to be rather harsh drawing, a compound in anything from 45-50lbs tends to draw very easy and with todays bows, they are more than capable of deer or even elk sized game at quite impressive yardage.

Well, for a guy with a sore shoulder, you sure had no trouble levering that rifle. Loads in the rifle and the sixgun looked healthy too!

You look all spiffy and full of vinegar, lot of energy. After you shot the single action, you just slid that baby in the holster like you were well practiced.

I'm going to start calling you Wyatt Pitchy.

Well done!------6

Good shooting Pitchy and real fine looking firearms.
I tried a couple of my bows back in Sept. and my left shoulder acted like it wouldn't hold up to enough practice for deer. I shot my osage bow that I made a few years ago and I just put them all away for now.

I just watched your video shooting the 86 SRC. Made me wish I hadn't traded off mine. I still have plenty of stuff to shoot though. Stay happy!

Thanks pards, no sign of Natives this time
My long bow and compound bow are 60 lbs, we`ll have to see how it goes, maybe the shoulder will get better on it`s own
The holster is an old one that I made long ago and use quite a lot with other guns.
The Stampede is the tightest gun I`ve ever owned, there is absolutely no movement in the cylinder and the gap is real close. And the trigger is perfect, I`ve never shot a group like that off hand. 8)
