Its less than 1/3 of the case, I load on a single stage press. I would not load these on a progressive, that could result in the big bang.

The only bullet I have used with this powder is the 33gr jacketed one I told you about.

I meant that low in velocity, that means I could carry my .223 with a high and low velocity load.
And in times like these not shoot my .22 Magnum.

Have you ever tried cast in a .223? You can easily load them down to .22 mag levels.

There is lots of information about that over on cast boolits.com in the cast bullet section.

A bit of trivia

At this years Cast Bullet Association bench rest national finals, the hunting rifle class (Hnt) was won with a .223 using 6 grs of Blue dot, that's 100 and 200 yrd shooting.

In the Hodgdon annuals, they show 3.5 of Tightgroup under a 55gr jacketed, for around 1000+fps.
I load 4gr for two reasons, I like to live on the edge sometimes, that and 4gr is what I burn under a 200gr swc in my H&K USP45, and don't want to change the powder thrower.
Sounds like a cap gun going off in my 788 Remmy.
Without any developement, it went into around 1 1/2 inch at 50 yards. The Clays load was deffinately more scattered. - Brian

In a rem 788, there is not a lot to worry about.

Lee makes a mold in .225 they call a Bator. That's the topic you'll find a lot of information under on cast boolits. Lee makes the Bator and sells them to Mid South Shooter's Supply. If you want a mold you get on the waiting list, then the next time they make a run of them you're in line. The Bator might not be the best, but it's a place to start.

It had better be 'cuz I miss quoted the load. I just rechecked and the load is supposed to be 3.1 of TG, and not 3.5. At 3.1 the psi is running 4000psi. And here I am running a 30% overload throwing 4gr.

I doubt you are pushing the envelope, Brian. I don't know what Hodgdon says this runs, but QuickLoad thinks the 3.1 grain load would be under 10K psi and about 1300 fps, while the 4 grain load about 14K psi and 1500 fps. Very pleasant plinkers with your level of accuracy.
