Visited Sierra and Starline yesterday

Post by rbertalotto »

My business found me in Sedalia MO yesterday. Was driving along and went right by Sierra Bullets and Starline brass. They are right next to each other in an industrial park. Didn't have time for a tour, but Sierra has a store where they sell blem bullets at great prices.

It's too bad about the tour, Roy - bullet production is impressive.

I remember wandering around inside Texas Instruments (Attleboro, MA) about40-odd years ago (servicing business machines), when they had the gov't contract for FMJ bullets - their hi-speed automatic machines (there were more than a few machines) were punching them out @ almost machinegun speed (and NOISILY, too).

Last time I was in Sedalia I bought some 375 bullets, 41 mag bullets and a few pounds of 44 mag bullets.
I had them wrapped nicely and in my luggage. TSA idiots openned them and I had to sort them as they were all mixed together
I am one gun away from happy

The folks at Starline and Sierra are super great and really back the shooting sports, of course, that's who they make a living from. But they are helpful and accommodating. I met them in 2002 when I competed in a mounted shooting match at the MO. state fair in Sedalia.

Aw, I am disappointed -- as you are too I'm sure -- that you didn't get a tour...

With your tooling background, firearms knowledge and active blog, I was looking forward to a "pictorial tour" for the rest of us here.

I remember buying 2nds from Sierra when they were in Santa Fe Springs, CA. Took a few CA coyotes with their .307 125 gr HP that was missin' the cannelure! Sure wished they'd have moved to Dallas!

Went by there and got a tour, many years ago. Bought some of their seconds. Still have a bunch of them too.

That's cool! 8) I normally try to stop in and see those kind of places if my business travel takes me near them.
