Nothing wrong with Sherman!

Post by madman4570 »

Any of you guys that have played sports know the deal. The adrenalin pumps.
Been into sports since age 6 and trust me there is a big reservoir of it in one self.

I watched that episode yesterday with actual comments coming out of their mouths during event.
I watched what happened afterwards and also the conference Sherman gave after.

My take, leave the man be, he though might have used a tad more couth, just dandy.
Not everyone is the same like a robot and the fool that cranked him, should be talking about him more.

I liked Sherman's conference, man says what he means and dude to me is stand up!
I am leaving it to the man is passionate! The rear tap saying good game even at that moment, that is what the coaches preach.

This is the NFL, no longer interested. Looks more like WWF. Probably won't bother to watch.

Crabtree was a trash talker at Texas Tech. I am sure they were both doing it all game. DBs have to react to the O all game. They get worked up for good reason. The only thing I didn't like too much was him saying he was the best CB in the NFL, let the All Pro status come from the other players. My two cents. I wanted my DBs to be very confident. They were very good some years and some talked a lot some let their actions talk. As long as they were not cursing the sidelines or opposing coach, no problem. RR7

He's an embarrassment to the NFL, plain and simple. I played football, the same position too. Granted college ball isn't the same as the NFL, but I never felt the need to act like that even when I intercepted the ball and ran it back for a TD against our arch rival. He's just a typical street thug, with the mouth to go with it. Only difference is he can play ball well, and is grossly overpaid. That last part goes for all pro athletes. My favorite NFL player of all time was Marshall Faulk. He was one of the best running backs to ever play the game, and I'm sure he had his share of adrenaline highs, but he was never anything but classy.

Dude,
You never acted out of control and had to be brought into reality by the Coach or your peers?
You weren't playing hard enough then. Bet you didn't wrestle ?

Look, high impact sports and a player all involved sometimes goes that direction. Plain and simple.
Actually that dude is extremely smart and graduated from one of the top Universities in the USA

I actually like his spunk he just got carried away a tad.
NFL doesn't make him God and he is just a man.

A man that in that game sent S.F. packing!

Yep Ted, you sure couldn't have wrestled, I just know it by your response!

He may have just gotten just a "tad" carried away but he is supposed to be a professional. His comments should have been about his teams efforts, not me, me, me. Telling Crabtree , "great game" seconds after he failed to catch a game winner and still time on the clock got him the expected response. They both have a history of fueding with each other. My boys all play hockey and it gets very physical and lots of trash talk but they leave it on the ice, just as Sherman should have left it on the field and be a professional that he's paid to be. He's an incredible player.....should just let his actions spesk for him.

Wrestling........you mean "aggressive cuddling"?  just kidding.

I never said he wasn't educated, or a talented football player. They just need to keep the cameras away from him, because he apparently doesn't have the ability to control what comes out of his mouth, or at least recognize when he's making a complete fool of himself.

And no, I didn't wrestle. We left that and volleyball for the girls.

I was once a pretty good linebacker. I was brought up with manners and some common sense in a good community and church. I was not a thug.

There were times I am very glad I was never taped as I was not proud of my mouth or attitude during a game. I have suffered most of my life from a tendency to aggression and anger more than most. By Grace I avoided serious consequences. A job description for a linebacker immersed in a winning only environment.

As a very decent guy once advised let the guy with no sins throw the first stone. I'll cut the kid some slack and hope time will set him back to earth. I know guys who were ruined by a successful sports career. I also played with inner city kids who dug themselves out of a sewer to become decent family men of the highest caliber using a football, impressive wheels, or a really tough body. I can only imagine the thousands and thousands of young people saved by the American college scholarship system and given opportunity unavailable to them normally. I was one and played with a bunch.

I am no longer a fan of pro sports except for the yearly playoff run for the Stanley Cup, still a Canadian. I am looking forward to the winter Olympics however. The summer Olympics turn my stomach, still locked in the new Cold War.

They lost me when Dallas fired Landry. It's been a downward spiral ever since.

I purposely have nothing to do with sports....they all "tinkle" me off. Having said that, since I live in Western Washington, how can I NOT watch the the last couple games in this Thug Drama?

I heard that in the Superbowl the Seahawks will have to use a no huddle offense because of the players on probation not being able to associate with other felons as a condition of their probation.

We shared the gym with the girls team and there was this 6 foot tall country girl that also held my interest. I always preferred jockettes to the cheerleaders. She could knock a grown man cold with a spike or a smile!

NFL meets MTV. Let him take his passion and stick it where the sun don't shine. He can keep the Nword trash talk on the field with the Ns.
