Re: The Italians invade Tennessee...
So now Beretta, FN, Glock, Para, Remington and Ruger have a presence in the South. Marlins and Winchesters are no longer made in Connecticut. Manufacturing traditions seem to be changing not with just firearms. Of course our textile, furniture and tobacco industries have been decimated, so we need to make what we can here.

Don't forget Colt. They have a place here in Florida as well.

Re: The Italians invade Tennessee...
Beretta chose Tennessee for a lot of reasons. ONE reason that was very important to them is Tennessee's GUN FRIENDLY environment. Beretta had to open a manufacturing facility in the U.S. to win the DOD contract for the 9mm sidearm(it was a condition of the bid offering). They started out in Maryland. Fast forward to 2014...Maryland has become a very UN-friendly state to gun owners and shooters. I'm congratulating Beretta for putting their MONEY, and 300 jobs...where their best interests are.

This has been a big driver for the gun manufacturers, as well as others making gun-related items. Why add jobs to a state that doesn't support gun rights? Especially when there are plenty of gun-right supporting states with nicer climates to boot!
Re: The Italians invade Tennessee...
Gun friendly was only one consideration. Land cost and taxes, labor costs, transportation infrastructure, TVA power...all played a part in their decision.
