Man can those Ruger GP100`s shoot!
I now own 6 GP100`s , Two of them are SS 6" .357`s.
Here is one that I installed a Weigand rail and Ultra Dot on. I bolted the red dot and rail on and went to the gun club last Sunday and ,without bore sighting, it printed this 6 shot group with the first cylinder full at 25 yd. rested.
158 gr. Hornady XTP over 14 gr. 2400 (my standard load).
To say "I am pleased" would be an understatement.

I liked mine. Probably should have kept it, but at least I have an SP101...

Hougue grips, wise choice; all my d/a's wear them.

I'm a huge fan of Ruger pistols
nothing fancy, but they are tough as heck and just plain work

Re: Man can those Ruger GP100`s shoot!
I have a Speed Six, which seems built very similarly, but have never tried to really 'group' with it, due to the 3" barrel and fixed sights. Still, it is one TOUGH firearm.
I often recommend the GP-100 for folks getting their first gun, but not necessarily wanting a CCW piece; with 38 Specials I know it won't kick, will last forever, and is safe and easy to learn with. If one of the household members takes a liking to it and practices, he or she can load it up with Magnums, and even use it for CCW if they want. VERY versatile.
On top of that, they can (and should) get a 357 Mag Rossi or Marlin to go with it...
Someday I ought to get me one, but I'm probably not a good enough shot to justify having it vs. my Speed Six.

That's some good shootin'.
GP100's are very accurate. I had a blued 4" example that shot well. I gave it to my dad who still has it.

I bought mine about 20 years ago. Retired the Colt Python and never looked back. But I think the factory grips can't be beat.

Very good work, Chuck. I know of a guy in the Midwest who kills his whitetail with a similar rig every year, running a heavy cast boolit.

Nothing at all wrong with that group.

jruppert2 , I have no way to accurately weigh it but it don`t seem as heavy as my Ruger Super BlackHawk 7 1/2" .44 mag.
