Terrific Racing Movie: "Rush" (A Ron Howard film)

Post by Old No7 »

Hi all:

If you're looking for a terrific action movie that your bride or girlfriend (hopefully, not both in the same room with you...) will want to watch along with you...

Then go rent or download "RUSH", a Ron Howard film based on a true story about:
"This dramatic portrayal of the intense 1970s rivalry between race drivers Niki Lauda and James Hunt captures the contrasts between the two champions. While Hunt was a charming and handsome ladies' man, Lauda was a loner with a single goal: Victory"

The scenes of Formula One racing are really well done, and the story is pretty cool too.

Maybe I missed it??? But I don't ever recall hearing anything about this movie before it hit an "on-demand movie 'preview' screen" at a hotel one night while I was traveling on business recently -- no way I would pay $15.00 to see it, but it is definitely well worth watching.

It was one of the best movies we've seen in awhile! It's great!!!

Enjoy!

They were filming most of the last F1 season. Courses like Monaco only exist during race weekend. The rest of the year they're city streets.
Hamilton and Rossberg are doing the same thing this season and the team has asked Niki Lauda to have a talk with them.http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/formula1/27569287

Rush is a good movie. LeMans is still the best racing movie, though.

I remember seeing that movie when it first came to Tucson, 1971 or 2, walk in theater.

My old buddy Jack had to leave and go sit in the lobby about half way thru, it was to much excitement for him

It still makes me laugh when I think about it.

the 917 was also the greatest race car ever envisioned - it dominated and shut down every series in which it was ever entered. The Car that Killed Can-Am.
