Kodiak Photos

Post by 7.62 Precision »

Before I headed out to Dutch, I was in Kodiak. The photos aren't great, I took most just with my phone while working.

Same view, different day.

And another day. My office cubicle. :D

Thanks for the pictures. I have been reading the 4 book Highliner series and your posts with pictures help bring the area alive to me. My wife says I can't visit there because she thinks I will stay. I'm trying to figure out if that is a bad thing or not. :D

It's actually harder. Any driller who likes to be in a cab is no driller.

Makes me think of that old saying --- Colder than a Well drillers --- in Alaska ! :)

I grew up on a Cable tool rig.

Nice pictures, thanks.

All the stuff you see scattered across the tide lines are crab shells.

To put this in perspective, this shows about 15 feet of height

Thanks, had some pretty tough times this winter, and then little access to barely working internet out here.

My son was on Kodiak for three years in the Coast Guard. Met his wife ( also CG ) and was married there. They are in Virginia now as he has Cutter duty. They both can't wait to get back up there.......and I don't blame em!

Friend of mine is there in the CG. His boat is in this area right now, is in port in Dutch from time t time, so I saw him the other day and did a tour of the boat.
