Accurasy of 44 MAG Leverevolution ammo

Post by t.r. »

I fired this 3 shot group at 100 yards and am amazed by the accuracy of this Hornady ammo. The rifle is a RUGER 96 with 1-20 twist rate and the scope is Bushnell featuring 1.5 - 4.5X. Some varmint rifles can do no better than this tight cluster of shots.

Has anyone tried 44 MAG Leverevolution ammo in their Marlin, Henry, Rossi, or Winchester? I'm a big fan!

Not in 44 mag, but tried it in 45-70 out of my Ruger #3 very tight groups. Bought some in 32 special but have not tried that yet.

Got great accuracy with the 325 grain FTX bullet in my #3, did not appear to expand at all on deer or pigs even pushed way faster than the Factory Leverrevolution ammo. 3 friends had the same poor results with the factory stuff out of guide guns. I have heard good things about its performance on game in other calibers but have not seen these results myself.

Excellent accuracy in both my T-C Contender Carbine and my Ruger GP-100 in .357. Killed a nice boar (220# with the blood and guts out) last fall in Monterey County, CA with the carbine. Made TWO big holes with one shot! Nest time I'm trying the GP.

FYI just listed a Ruger 96/44 on classifieds.
This is plagiarized from someone else, but I love it!

Out of my Guide Gun and CO-Pilot it shoots better than anything I have tried. Last year my guide gun killed a Buffalo and a Moose with it, did not find the bullet in either and they were both one shot under 50 yards. The group under the 7 on the right was three rounds at 50 yards out of my Co-Pilot with a red dot. Sorry I did not take a photo of the 100 yard target.
I have not fired them out of my .44 Mag Marlin.

I've had similar results with the 444 version. Haven't tried it on game yet though.
