Had a little luck

Post by plowboy 45 »

Done a little hunting yesterday and today
Yesterday was nothin but turkeys
Today I took the model 94 I made into a 38 55, and man will it lay one down
I was shootin buffalo bore 255 grain J. F. N at 100 yards give or take a few feet
Aint never figured how to lin the pics up in order
Anyway there's the front sight from an 1894 penny, might not be the pertyist, but it's deadly
Flippin a coin, 1886 or 1892 for tomorrow
Thinkin I'll take the 86 in 38 56

CONGRATS doesn't it feel special when you use a old gun instead of the latest 600whizbangsupermagnumdeerassassinII. I am taking a 1903 Marlin 1893 takedown with me next week.

The old 38-55 will knock deer down. Meat in the freezer.

Plowboy who did your conversion? I have a Buffalo Bill that is just begging to be a 38-55. I have a Marlin in 30-30 don't need 2 of the same caliber.

Cherokee1, I talked my son into sending a 1973 94 Winchester 30-30 to JES Reboring in Oregon, 225 bucks and you get a beer killing 38-55 back in a few weeks. Send the rifle and it will be sighted in ready to hunt.
Oh, welcome to a real great forum, are you from Oklahoma?

Thanks Plowboy. Yes I was born in Bartlesville. I've been in Texas most of my life though. Feel more Texan than Okie. I don't like the tornados.
