Browning BLR in 30-06?

I have no experience with this BLR. Any experience with the takedown version of this caliber in the BLR? I'm interested in accuracy and performance. How are the sights?

One of my Grandsons has a BLR in 30-06 but not a takedown. It is scoped and very accurate. Around 1.5 inch groups. He loves it and has taken several whitetail with it.

Handle one chambered in the .308WCF along with the 30-06. The difference in handling is amazing. The .308 is lighter and feels better. I know that wasn't part of your question, but for the slight performance loss going from the 06 to the 308 is well worth it. I've had 3 BLRS. All very accurate, but, they were .308's.

In 1969 Browning started using two digits for the date of manufacture:
K=BLR Lever Action Rifle
This was then followed by the serial number.
Made in Belgium from 1969 - 1972.
Made in Japan from 1973 to present.

Thanks. Great read. Definitely thinking I will give one a try. 30-06 is in every store even when you can't find other common military ammo. I'm going to put glass on it. Takedown a must. Accuracy a must. I considered to just use a .375 H&H as my general rifle but I think the 06 will work in all but the most dangerous applications. I missed out on a Blaser takedown.

Not easily on the post-80s. The pre-81s screwed in.
Perhaps you can have Browning fit a different one or fit a takedown in a different caliber.
