I Put A Checkmark On My Bucket List This Week

Post by Pete44ru »

.

I finally found/bought a knife I've wanted since they were first introduced - a Browning Model 52 Ltd Edition (1 of 2500) sheath knife.

Both upper & lower tangs have some filework.

The knife was made by Seki for Browning, to match their Model 52 & 53 retro-rifles.

It'll shortly be joining my little assortment of cut-bone & stag-handled knives.......A Browning Trapper below, with a W.C. Davis custom sheath knife & a small Frost Mini-Trapper.

Browning/Seki also made a different pattern knife, made to match the Model 1886 rifles:

Neat Pete. I'm not much of a collector, but am thinking about collecting some kukris.

That looks to be the makings of a nice bushcraft knife. Well done

Nice accumulation, Fred !

Thanks for the kind words, too, folks - I've had the guns (they were among the ones I sold to fund my early retirement), but now have just the knives.

Nice looking knife. I like knives for some of the same reasons that I like guns. They are useful, can be beautifully designed, and the owner can learn to use them for more than just what it seems that they can be used for.

And, knives are a LOT less expensive than firearms, and carry almost none of the legal baggage firearms acquisition/ownership carries.

Some folks might not be able, or want, to afford buying firearms; but for the same $$$ someone can have 3x-4x as many "toys".
