Great Weekend and a bit of shooting
Ran up to the family ranch in Utah and visited the folks this weekend, had a great time. Brought up a couple of older leverguns, my 1949 Marlin 336A that my dad gave me and was the first gun I shot a mulie with at age 12. My Dad bought it new in 49 with his dad and it has allot of game and stories attached to it. Thought it would be fun to dust it off with the "Ol Man"
The other 30-30 is a 1942 Winchester 94 that I bought from mod71alaska and am finally getting to shoot it.
We also sighted in my Dads Winchester Model 88 in .243.
It was a very windy weekend, but was able to squeeze in some early morning "Breezy" shooting and had a great time.
The Model 88 finally found a 100 gr. load that it likes, any thing heavier and the groups just open up.
Both the Marlin & Winchester turned in right at 1" groups at 50 yds. with a 170 gr. load.
Wish every weekend could be this good!

Me with the Winchester
Our heard doubled in size this winter
