In anticipation of November !

Post by 6pt-sika »

Well I'm on a bit of a buying spree !

Today I had to put in a rather large order to one of our distributers for ammo for one of the local sheriffs departments . So i added some stuff for myself "in anticipation" !

I ordered for me 10 boxes of Armscor 30 Carbine 110 FMJ at 50 to the box , this stuffs made in the Philippines and to date has shot decent for me . Also four boxes of Hornady 30 Carbine 110 grain Soft Point 25 to the box . And of course dove season coming saturday I got 8 dove clip on decoys and one Mojo battery operated dove decoy .

That should get me over the 4,000 round plateau for my pair of Carbines !

Hmmmm I forgot I purchased from a guy on Gunbroker some new old stock 30 Carbine ammo also ! A single box of circa 1960's REM-UMC 110 SP 50 in the box and 5 boxes of 20 in the box Norma 110 SP also from the 60's or 70's .

I'm still sort of in the market for 8 pounds of Green Dot , 8 pounds of IMR4831 , 4 or 5 pounds of RL-17 , 4 or 5 pounds of RL-19 , 5 more pounds of Blue Dot , possibly 8 pounds of Red Dot and quite possibly 8 pounds of US-869 .

Probably wouldn't hurt to have another 5 to 10 thousand CCI or WIN 209's .

And lets be honest if the capital is there a ton of shot LOL's !

Now do I really really need all the stuff I've gotten recently or am still looking for ? To be honest NO not at the moment .

BUT ......................................... if I have I won't need to be looking at a later date when it may not be available for any number of reasons .

I forgot , when I was talking with my sales person on the phone I told him I wanted an 8 of Green Dot and 8 of IMR 4831 and an 8 of Red Dot as well as a couple pounds of RL-17 and a couple of RL-19 . The reply to that was we have none you asked for !

I too, always stay stocked up. At least 60 pounds of various powders and 40k primers.

It's better to have it and not need it than it is to need it and not have it. Be prepared .....the storm is coming.------6

My accumulation of shotgun powders is being added to every day . May or may not be stuff I've used before but if it's close I can figure a way to use it !

After sitting back and looking at what's in my accumulation the AR bug is cropping up again . Something about a 6.8 SPC that keeps coming up , preferably in a Stag Arms Model 7 !

Decided to build up the three Anderson stripped lowers I got when they were $40 each, before the panic takes hold. Got one complete kit minus lower from CDNN, SS carbine 1/8 twist for $429. Got it three days after my on-line order.
This is plagiarized from someone else, but I love it!

A wise precaution for sure. It is not looking good. I've been preparing for this for a while, but like Blaine, wish I had more.

I have crossed over officially to the dark side !

Tuesday or wednesday I should be in possesion of a Stag Arms Model 7 in 6.8 SPC and several boxes of Hornady 120 SST ammo . I've had dies for about a year . So other then bullets to reload with I'm set as far as thats concerned . I am thinking a Stag Arms Model 6 upper in 223 may follow soon and an Alexander Arms 50 Beowulf upper .

I've got the ammo storage boxes just about full for all my calibers. Just need a little 30-30 and 45ACP to top it all off. If Cankles the Hildabeast wins, I'm actually thinking of selling off my AR's. I figure the prices in my state will go sky high and I just might get enough for a 45-70 lever and a 44 Mag lever. 8)

I bought another AR , a Ruger AR556 Davidsons exclusive. Tracking shows it at the local depot.
Plus another K of brass and bullets. I am well set on all others I shoot.

Since H. Clinton will ultimately be POTUS come JAN 20, 2017, I look for the arms and ammo manufactures to ramp up production, much like they did in Obama's 2nd term. Got to admit, Obama got the $ of an AR cut almost in half with panic buying and the increase in demand. Wonder if the BIG O and gun manufactures are in bed together? After almost 8 years, we got guns and ammo, except .22LR in a greater supply than ever.

I have Hornady 120 SST factory loads at the moment for my 6.8 SPC . Kinda bought them for the brass mostly and I have 120 SST's to reload them with later .

I just finished loading 50 or so rounds for the 308 for load testing . 25 rounds with the Sierra 150 BTSP for getting it on paper etc and then 30 rounds of Hornady 150 SST's using IMR4895 , H4895 , IMR4064 , VArget and RL-15 . Whatever I decide on for a hunting l think I'll load a couple hundred of them .

I want a couple uppers for the AR-10 I think . One in 260 REM and the other in 338 Federal .

And while I'm at it I just might jump on the "mortar round" bandwagon and get a complete gun from Alexander Arms in 50 Beowulf or a complete gun from Bushmaster in 450 Bushmaster . But then an AR-10 upper in 338 Federal would fill the same niche and have a good bit better trajectory on paper atleast .

I finally was able to get my AR-15 and AR-10 together to suit me . Had been waiting on the Nikon rings and unbeknownst to us they had been at the PO in the PO Box for almost a week .

Anyway I mounted a nice older Leupold Vari XII 3-9 on the 6.8 SPC and a Leupold VX1 4-12 on the 308 . And of course my shell cathcer attachment thingy mounts right up there in betwee the two piece rings ! With these new rings I was able to get the scopes far enough forward for my stock crawling .

I got a really good deal on a complete Bushmaster upper in 450 Bushmaster that should be to me monday , so I then went ahead and ordered a Rock River lower that I oughtta have in about two weeks factory direct !

You'll find that ammo catcher to be a PITA. Ejected rounds will get hung up. The free standing ones are waaay less frustrating and much more efficient.

I used one on my friends 50 Beowulf and it wasn't to bad . This one should be a skoosh better since it has a hard frame to hold it off the gun . These things are more for when I go hunting I've gotten kinda funny about loosing brass of any kid .

Well that isn't 100% true since I have a new Rock River complete lower coming for this upper . But that was ordered and paid for last week . At the moment the 450 upper is on the lower for my 6.8 SPC .

Don't have a Glock of any kind, but if I ever get one, it would be due to having those magazines available... :D

I'm going to like the 10 a bit better if I can get a better trigger . An upper in 260 REM will also help the cause .

Yesterday I took the 450 Bushmaster out and sighted it in with the new Leupold VX1 2-7 on top . Shooting factory it was putting three in the same hole at 50 yards . At 100 with factory it was actually keeping three around an inch which is way way more then I was expecting especially with factory loads .
