What are the chances Ruger will...
give us a model 1894 .327 fed. Marlin in a 16" version? Think I'll buy at least one!

Re: What are the chances Ruger will...
It needs a faster twist or something versus the Henry; disappointed in accuracy in my Henry 327 (but in its defense have had but little time to mess with load development).
I’d like the hyphenated cartridges to be reintroduced as well....
...and...maybe a 480.....

I'll take a 20" barrel please. Something along a 1-16" twist or 1-14" twist.
327 federal, but at least the 32 mag.(sure regret selling mine!!)

A faster twist than Henry uses would be good. A side loading gate would be good.

Re: What are the chances Ruger will...
I just want to see what Ruger does with any of the Marlin lever guns. Really trying not to let my hopes get out of hand.
Re: What are the chances Ruger will...
You are 100% correct.Really trying not to let my hopes get out of hand.
Ruger bought a prestige name but bottom line they are in the business to make money. No one makes stockholders happy with vanity projects.
On a side note I still think that Henry's rapid addition of the King's gate to their product line is a marketing defense of the Ruger-Marlin acquisition.
So I expect when the barn door opens there will a product line of basic, money-making guns.
With Ruger's excellent engineering department there will be a basic frame or two, with multiple caliber options.
With Ruger's production, I don't see any quality control issues.
What these guns will be, I don't know. I don't have any knowledge of the market numbers.
But I'll bet there will be a small frame .22 (not a model 39 copy, too complex), a medium frame .357/.44 and a large frame .30-30, .45/70.
After they get basic guns in place, then they can expand to the second tier cartridges.

I think that they will sit on the name for a while. They do not have production facilities to do much more than they do now and they have no backlog in guns. Everything is selling right now.

I know it will take Ruger time to put together a good Marlin! Work out the bug's that Remington could not. Until them I'll just play with my JM Marlin's and Winchester's!
Re: What are the chances Ruger will...
I'd love a .327 longarm.

Re: What are the chances Ruger will...
It might just help sales of .327 six guns also, because of cowboy action shooters.

That could be the motivation they need. Money and sales tend to get corporations to move.

Re: What are the chances Ruger will...
My guess is that Ruger's engineers are going over the 94 and 336 microscopically, writing new CAD programs and talking with marketing. I would be very surprised if they don't substitute investment-cast frames for the old forged ones. Other than to uphold tradition, there is no reason not to.
Re: What are the chances Ruger will...
Ruger is known as an industry leader in investment casting. There is no reason which I can think of for them to not use investment casting to make a marlin style firearm.

Re: What are the chances Ruger will...
aren't they huge in investment casting? I think they cast fan blades for jet engines.
if they are going to investment cast a levergun, my choice would be the perfect Win 92, strengthened to shoot Marlin level loads in 45 Colt and 357. and anything else that can cycle thru...

Probably better than the odds Ruger will reintroduce a Marlin Ballard.

I'd really like to see the 94 cl back in 25-20.
