Quick zero check.
Just did a quick zero check today.
100yds and 200yds.
One reload and one factory load. Just one round each. Four shots.
The ammo is old Winchester 50gn sp.
Any ideas how old it is?
I can get it at half current prices here.

That packaging looks to be from the 1960s. Nice shooting!

..
I agree those probably were 1960s boxes, although I'm sure somebody on here would know for sure.
What is the cartridge? From the grain weight I'm guessing maybe 218 Bee or 219 Zipper or 22-250...?

The ammo box is post-1961 (white "Child-Warning" label)...typically 1962 to 1976.
I sighted in my 30-06 the other day at 100 yards. I just left it at that!!

Re: Quick zero check.
Hi Nath -
How hard is it to get reloading components in the UK?
Does buying components require special licensing?
Not to hijack your post, but it got me wondering...

Not many hoops to jump through reloading wise.
They are supposed to ask to see your licence when buying primers and or powder.
Blackpowder you need an explosive license which are free.

That is great to hear, Nath! I was worried that you had to jump through crazy hoops.Nath wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 12:37 amHello old friend.Ysabel Kid wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 8:45 pmHi Nath -

And I'm jealous you can find blackpowder! No one local to me carries it.

Right you are, Nath. I can still do more than a lot of my fellow countrymen. Not a lot of restrictions where I live. I wish everyone had the same freedoms.
Good idea on buying up!
