Puzzle Six is on the way!

It is said to be '66 Centenial. I gave a little too much for it, but it contains most of the parts. Hopefully most are useful. It is a similar vintage to Puzzle Four.

Oh, it's going to be an SRC!

Wow! Just what I'd need to build my .44 Mag. I'm sitting on a nice new barrel and some other parts too.

20cows, I believe that it would be a '64 or so vintage "Antique" with it's SRC and color cased finish. The '66 Centennials were "brass" colored. If it had the gold spring cover (loading gate) it would be a clincher.

Didn't the Antiques have a little engraving on the receiver, or am I thinking of another one?

I was watching that on Aution Arms. I almost bid on it.

Glad I didn't.

Can't wait to see how it turns out :D

I am only guessing at this, perhaps a Centennial that has been stripped of its finish, Looks old timey
to me .
On a similar action I have been fooling with, the hammer screw for the post 64 model 94 seems
to be odd or rare as far as the availability of a replacement goes.
I tried a pre 64 screw and it is different , the parts companies I have tried do not offer the screw.
Any suggestions on getting one will be much appreciated.
Best Regards,creosote

I forget the thread size & pitch, but... careful here, don't let this catch on, but you can get a screw from your local hardware store that will hold that two piece mainspring in place... unless you're a purist... then you might try someone like on this list: Obsolete Parts for Winchester Firearms, ask for a Numrich # 5594X... oh heck it's available from Numrich now under Mainspring Screw (Between 2,700,000 & 4,580,000)

Creosote,

Call Browning / Winchester. The post-64 Hammer Screw is the same as the latest Angle Reject Hammer Screw.
I got both and the parts are identical.

Yep, Joe is right, I was trying to reply to too many posts at the same time and kept reading "mainspring screw", in fact the hammer screw and the Link/frame screw for the post-64's are the same.

It is truely amazing what parts can be successfully integrated into a working 94!

20cows,
Is that receiver of a different serial number range? Almost all the commemorative were serial numbered separately from the standard production guns.

All I've seen of it so far are those two pictures and the serial no. was not provided. The auction described it as a '66 Centenial and I didn't remember what that looked like specifically, but neither did it matter to me. All I could tell was it was a post-64 SRC action, which I could work with.

A family member wants a synthetic-stocked "truck gun" and this looks like a good starting place.
