Customer Service (This doesn't happen much anymore)

Post by 2ndovc »

I have a Bushnell Scopecheif IV that i got with another rifle.
That particular rifle was damage and I parted it out as is.
I kept the scope but it too was damaged. The magnification adjustment was stuck
on 3X. I really liked this scope due to it's command post feature.
You can have a fine crosshair reticle or a post with the flip of a switch.

I sent it off to Bushnell in hopes that it could be repaired.
Following the instructions on the web site I sent the
scope, a note about what was wrong and a check for 10.00 for return shipping.

about a week later I recieved a post card with a repair number and was able to
follow the process online.

Two weeks after it was received the staus was changed to "return" with a UPS tracking number.
Two days later it was on my porch.
Reciept stated that repairs and adjustments had been made at NO CHARGE!
A 30 plus year old scope! That's just amazing!

I put it on Grandfather's 03A3 sporter. Can't wait to go sight it in!

This rifle and I have traveled a lot of trails together and taken a pile of deer.
I replaced the original Redfield scope that had
failed with a $30.00 Bushnell Sportview as a temporary fix. 15 years later it was still on there and
had never let me down. I like the correct vintage scope on it though.

Bushnell has made a life long customer!

My brother had a 4x Banner with a post in it, we put it through hell;
it took a licken and kept on ticken.
Have to ask him whatever happened to it.

That's fantastic service. It's nice to see a company stand behind it's product for the "life" of the product. There was a time when it was more common. Today, I think the firearms and accessory industry is about the last one left. Too many once proud brands have failed or are failing because today's managment is only looking for the quick sale, and to heck with repeat long term customers. Probably one of the best known declines was that of Maytag. Once they were bought, the quality declined so dramatically, it's all but gone.

I have an old 4x scope chief with command post on my .250 savage. I have never felt the need to try anything else on it. I'm glad you got yours back.

It's great to hear you got good service. More companies are beginning to realize that without repeat customers they don't have much. Besides with the advent of the internet bad stories travel at lightening speed.
