Hi All this is my first post here and I am glade to be here. I have just found a Marlin 1894 in LC45 and wanted to know if my Ruger BH hunting load of 20gr of 2400 with a 250gr jhp be to hot for my new lever gun if so I will burn them up ASAP so not to mix them up? If so would you please share with me some plinking and hunting loads for the Marlin. I would also like to know what bullet mold I should get that will work in both my BH & Marlin in the 250 & 255gr.

Welcome to the forum. I'm not a Marlin guy but I can't imagine a load that a BH could swallow that a Marlin couldn't. However, the experts will arrive shortly I'm sure.

Welcome to the forum.
Your Marlin 1894 can safely use any load, factory or hand load that's listed for the Rugers.
As far as cast bullets my Marlin 1894 Cowboy will function and feed with anything. Keith bullets flow through it like round noses do.
My favorite .45 Colt bullet is a 255 to 265gr Keith SWC sized .454".

The other good thing about the Marlin .45's is that unlike the .44's they have the proper twist for really heavy bullets. I limit to 265 grains in my .44 and they do just fine (in accuracy and power) but the .45's only seem to limit by cartridge overall length, due to the rapid twist rifling.

Welcome to the forum,there is a vast amount of excellent gun knowledge here. Paco Kelley the forum owner has a very good article on the .45 in carbines I believe and someone will post a link to it soon so just hold on.
