Hog Hunting In Florida

Post by huntress »

Well Joe...AKA 86er did it again! I am in Florida with my kids to see my brother graduate from Culinary School. Joe, knowing we would be here, hooked my daughter Lindsay up with a hog hunt. We had to drive 3 1/2 hours each way but it was worth it. We went out on a swamp buggy and found a hog. Lindsay took her shoot and we thought she just scared him. Her guide, Casey, released the dogs to flush the hog out. It worked and when Lindsay had another shoot she took it. In Casey's words it was a 'perfect shot through the shoulder'. Lindsay was thrilled. When Casey retrieved the hog we realized that Lindsay connected the first time. She hit the front of the shoulder first and the shot that took him down was the one 4 inches away in the back of the shoulder. He was a beauty at around 115 lbs. Casey was great hooking us up with meat and numerous trophies. Needless to say my girl is thrilled. Thank you Joe for thinking of her and hooking this hunt up! Once again...you made her day! Now i can't wait to see what my brother does with the meat!

Wow! Lindsay! That's awsome!!!!

I hope your dad is as proud of you as your mom obviously is! I hope the remainder of your FL trip is great. Travel safe and enjoy the B-B-Q.
Kind regards,
Tycer

The hunt took place in the Okeechobee area on a large property that belongs to one of my friends. The school, however is somewhere near Tampa if I recall correctly.

Good shooting there, Lindsay! Beautiful pictures. The hog is nice...you're the beautiful one! What caliber/model rifle were you using? Are you still shooting and hunting with your .22? Have a great summer, and stop by the Forum and say "Hi" to us when you can!
