OT: Prayer Request for J Miller

Post by J Miller »

I just got home from the Urologist about an hour ago. This was the initial appointment with him due to the last high PSA tests I had.
The DR did a bunch of questioning, then did a manual exam. That hurt like I'd been gut shot!!! And an hour later I'm still aching.

Anyway he found what he called a nodule on the prostate. I've got an appointment for the biopsy on November the 10th.
Dr said that based on studies and charts and my history there is a 60% chance it's cancer, and a 10% chance that if it's cancer it's an aggressive cancer.

So I'd like to ask all you guys that have put up with me for the last several years to add me to your prayer list. I need all the help I can get so I don't worry myself into a grave before the biopsy comes around.

I've also got a colonoscopy October 21st. So for the next couple months I'm gonna be poked and prodded and roto rootered all over the place.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

Also any of you that have go through these things feel free to email me.
My email link is active.

Joe

One day at a time, Old Friend......Just stick it in your back pocket until it's time to deal with it. Go do something BAD like have a double pepperoni double cheese pizza and a large milkshake :P I'm not making light of all this, but you hit the nail on the head: You don't want to worry yourself into the grave about this.

Joe,

Prayers sent to the Great Physician that your tests will be negative for cancer; that He can take on your worries for you and family; and that your appointments and procedures are painless.

My radical robot prostectomy on the 18th was very successful and without any appreciable pain. Doc removed my catheter yesterday (the 28th), and now I am walking around and enjoying life as before, with no pain or discomfort at all, albeit no lifting or work is allowed for a while.

Carlene and I pray that you are similarly blessed. Whether it looks that way or not, God is in control.

The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah Come and see the works of the LORD, the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields with fire. "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Prayers for you Joe and an email to follow. I went through prostate cancer in 2003. My PSA last week was 0.36,God can handle it.

GOOD advice - that's what I did - an occasional big, greasy burger, a milk shake that I didn't tell my wife about, stuff that I don't normally do but that didn't hurt anybody in the end, and it cheered me up - along with lots of prayer and reading the Good Book (it really DOES cheer you up - especially anything in the Book of John!).

Then, a couple of nonsense movies - a western, a sci-fi flick - with my sweetheart. It worked for me, along with the knowledge that God loves us all, and with the assurance of prayers from my fellow levergunners (such as you, Joe).

I love Blaine's terse strategy - it does the trick: Just stick it in your back pocket until it's time to deal with it.

Get your mind on good stuff!

Yep, you and every body else are soooo right. So I'm eating some chocolate stars my wife bought me. Yum ... :P Not worrying. Gonna watch a movie ( X-Men Origins Wolverine ) clean my 9422 and pack up for a range trip tomorrow. Oh and eat some oreo cookies too.

As for the doctor, I don't think even your Asian doc could have done it without the ouch. That part of my anatomy is just plain sensitive.

Im almost 65, finally had a colonoscopy a few weeks ago. Didn't really like the idea that a few young girls would be in that room while a doc ran a snake up the pipe, but I figured that they probably seen worse. Don't worry about it Joe, the outcome will be based on prayers answered, and good treatment from your doc. You are in good hands no doubt.

Prayers sent. And for the rest on here, AJMD429 gave some excellent advice. Get yourself checked yearly. The Doctors don't check you for their own fun. They check you because having you die from cancer is worse for them than sticking their finger in and feeling for things that shouldn't be there.
