levergun show 'n' tell

Post by Streetstar »

In the grand tradition of internet show n tell --- "if its not photographed, it didnt happen" I present a few recent activities

First up is a GB aquisition -- a model 94 Ranger in (surprise surprise ) 30-30. It looked flat awesome when i got it, but i knocked a bruise in the forend when i was regulating the sights with a brass punch --- oh well - now it is a supreme "go to rifle" that i am not afraid to get dirty.

Moving right along in the "not afraid to get dirty" category is a .45 Colt Trapper, SRC configuration with a (shudder :x  ) Ram Line stock. I could not afford an un molested example at this time , even a x-bolt safety version. This one is cool but has an annoying tendency to slip a cartridge under the cartridge carrier occasionally --- which i have been told happens with wear on these --- definitely want to fix it

3rd is my Guide Gun. I have posted "naked" pics of it before, but this is the way it went to the woods this fall (and will in a couple of days too) ----- purists will cringe at both the barrel ports and the 3-9 inexpensive optic. I have to admit i like the way it shoots on 3x with the thing -- it deserves a nice Leupold 2-7x32, but this big cheapo works so good, i cant take it off yet :D 100 yard groups are awesome for a short fat levergun firing a 136 yo cartridge

last is my Ken Richardson boot knife ---- i bought it in a zombie like fog on ebay one night. One of those deals where you dont know what happened until you get an email announcing that you won such and such! Oh well, when it got here i was glad because it was cool and has a nice sheath. Handle is stag with turquoise accents. A good levergun accent, but not really that useful in the field. Its my Doc Holliday style knife

thats it for the latest version of MTZ CRIBS ! :D

These are my Rossi M92 Pumas. The more traditional model is chambered in .357 Magnum and is an outstanding target gun and plinker. The scoped model is chambered in .44 Magnum and is my Indiana legal deer gun. I absolutely love the light weight and nimble feel of Winchester 1892's.
