Hmmm interesting?

Post by Nath »

As many know here I had issues with my 94ae tang safty 94 last year.
Well today I decided to put the Nikkon 2-7 that was on the ae onto my 9422.
The cheaper 3-9 BSA scope I never liked the lines of and it's optics were poor in low light etc.

The lines of the Nikkon are more trad and much better optically.

The interesting thing was it went on the 22 set the same as when it was on the 30/30 but at 25paces it was shooting on the 22 over 4" to the right and 2" low. I can understand the 2" low but not the 4" to the right! I soon had it zeroed and shot it at different distances at rabbit head sized targets and all is well.

It has left me even more convinced that the barrel on my 30/30 had issues though, I swear that carbine had an eccentric chamber or reamed off line to the bore! Or threaded off line etc.

It shot the same when peeped too. I never did try the stock sights though.

I did recover an unexpanded bullet once and the rifling had engaged more one side than the other!

What do you say?
