Match Announcements...

Post by stew71 »

Hey if anyone is in or around the Sacramento area this weekend, we're holding our monthly military silhouette match on Saturday. Bring any as-issued military rifle with about 70 rounds and see how good you are out to 500 meters. We shoot at targets at 200, 300, 385, and 500 meters with iron sights. Some guys will bring their original sniper rifles or some sort of Franken-rifle with a modern scope, but they're in the open class. The rest of us haul out the Garands, Springfields, Enfields, Mausers, Schmidt-Rubins, and Mosins, and bang away until someone wins.

If you can't have fun here, well...then you have some serious issues, pard. Go see Dr. Phil.

And on June 5th, we're holding our next John C. Garand CMP Match. Bring that M1 Garand, Springfield, M1 carbine, or Krag out of the safe and punch some paper.

So what does this have to do with lever guns?? Well...an 1895 Winchester in 7.62x54R would qualify as a military-issed rifle now....wouldn't it? And last year, someone came out to play with an original 1873 Springfield Trapdoor. He was the center of attention.
Some people just need a sympathetic pat on the head.....with a hammer. Repeatedly.
