POLITICS - Gun Crime up 4% in UK

Post by gamekeeper »

On the news today!

Gun crime rose by 4 per cent last year, according to official figures recorded by police forces in England and Wales

So much for banning handguns and restricting anything else that even looks like a gun!
Whatever you do always give 100%........... unless you are donating blood.

When we were in Dublin in 2006, there were two murders by HANDGUNS in one night. I thought that such nasty things were illegal to own. Kind of like Washington DC, eh? :?

That simply cannot be true??? How in the world could there be gun crime when guns are effectively outlawed, It must be America's fault.

It's funny that I grew up in a town with many more guns than people (in Tennessee) and never knew of ANYONE being shot or victimized by violent crime.

You can bet the crafty little buggars will use the 4% increase to justify a World ban on firearms :?

It's a shame that innocent people have to suffer while the ivory tower set performs their social experiment.

It is equally a shame that those who suffer the rule of those ignorami don't simply add to the rise in gun crime and run both their political oppressors and the "other" criminals out of town.

:(
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

It's the arrogance that beats me up. The big wigs walk around with an armed escort enyet they tell us we can not prearrange a mode of self defence for our selves! We would be accused of premeditated murder if we armed our self with a weapon but their body guard would get off freely! This land is full of sheeple as GK calls them and they let the wolves rule, God I hate this dumb country.
I'm done now, again

That's a HOAX. It CAN'T be true. They have strict gun control laws there, and as we all know, strict gun control laws ALWAYS work!

It would be interesting how they define a "gun crime". If it is illegal to have ammo in your home without permission, it is a "gun crime" if the police should get to know that you have some old worn cartridges left from grampa's shotgun, which was sold fifty years ago. It doesn't necessarily mean violence or threat against people.

Well, if you average 25 gun crimes one year, and the next year you have 26, that's a 4% increase.

If you want to make it sound scary, you can say that gun crimes are 104% of what they were last year. Sure. Multiply 25 x 1.04 and you get 26.

If you look at the statistics for Togo, where there were no gun crimes last year, and one person holds up a 7-11 this year, that means gun crimes exploded in Togo by a thousand billion percent.

Mark Twain said it best: "there are lies, darn lies, and statistics".

GK -

You mean, gasp, that the criminals in the UK aren't obeying the anti-gun laws?!?

What is the world coming to?

Why, over here, as soon as they pass an anti-gun law, all crime with guns stops - because we know how much American criminals obey laws!!! Or, at least that is the logic of all the Democrats over here!!!

I'm pretty sure the numbers will go back down once they have full control and
registration of the plastic toy guns in the peoples hands

On a more serious note, I wish people could understand that if gun control
won't work on an Island, it won't work ANYWHERE.

Let's just say that the impossible could happen and they could round up all
firearms and throw them in the ocean. Any criminal with a lathe and half a
brain could make firearms and be back to business as usual.

It's a simple fact that criminals WILL find a way to arm themselves, their profesion
demands it, and plenty of them have stated that laws cannot stop them and in fact it is
easier to get a handgun on the street than it is in a gunshop.
