O/T New pistol w/ silly warning

Post by jkbrea »

I just picked up a Springfield 1911 EMP. It's a beautiful little 9mm and very accurate. As I was going over all the paperwork that came with it, I was reading the "consumer safety warnings". The pistol came with a belt holster. It actually states, "Do not holster a pistol that has a round chambered or is cocked. Doing so could result in accidental discharge, causing serious injury or death". I don't get it, If I'm carrying it for protection, wouldn't carrying an unloaded pistol possibly have the same results. I guess it's just due to liability issues.

Yep - they are afraid of being sued. Pretty soon guns will come with a warning "do not load or fire this weapon"... :(

That's as bad as the warnings that they feel they need to stamp on the firearm itself.

Sounds like they copied that warning from Glock.

Buy a toaster sometime :D :D :D

The six page owners manual has the first five pages listing the dumbest
things people have ever done with em.

What can you expect from such a litigious society :(

I was taught to "watch where you walk" but nowadays people don't have to
watch there steps, if they trip and fall it is surely someone else's fault

Label on the bottom of a candle: " To extinguish candle, blow out flame."
Kind regards,
