Nath, Gamekeeper, it wasn't you was it?
Surprising that it was able to survive so long on Exmoor, a small area of moorland in South-West England.

Perry, Game Keeper,
He weighed around 24 stone and was estimated to be 12 years old.
What is the US pound equivalent of the British stone?

That was a nice looking animal. Sounds like the enviro whackies were crying for nothing from what I read in the article.

Deer are like rats around here, so I could give a stuff who kills how many, but it does seem a bit of a shame that this particular specimen was harvested. He is a local celebrity of sorts, and he may have produced some impressive sons in the future. On the other hand, he was 12 years old, which the article seems to suggest is getting up there. I have no idea the lifespan of a deer.

24 stone X 14 pounds = 336 pounds. That's a pretty good sized stag.

The enviro whackies are pathetic individuals with nothing to do but interfere with other folks lives. They are the ones that need culled.

So was he poached or legally taken? I'm not sure after reading the article.

Some intelligent commentary at the end of the article but the yellow journalism title pretty much tells you where your press stands on the issue of HUNTING ("stalkers" in the U.S. are lunatics who harass people).

An excellent bag for whomever got him!

the article morphs a bit continuously.
It's now taking the tack of it being a legal trophy hunt (which it ignored in the prior rendition).
The article is written to incite the emotions of the very people who are responding.
The hatred by the people is plenty creepy, while projecting their persona and moral rights into the animal.
