The baseball team in Houston at that time was the Colt .45s (later became the Astros), hence the unconventional ground-breaking implements. The good ol' days, indeed.

Remember when at the Astros games, they had the groundskeepers dressed as Astronauts?

Yeah, I remember calling it the Domed Stadium before it became better known as the Astrodome, commonly referred to as just "The Dome". I remember the Colt .45s, too. Great picture. Thanks for posting!
