Can anybody recommend a good quality, lockable, hard sided rifle and pistol gun case mfr.?
I don't need anything exotic or to take on an airplane, just something that is durable and doesn't cost an arm & a leg.

I always had good results with Doskocil Manufacturing. When I just went to find you a website, I learned that it looks like the company was bought out by a company called Plano. You might check them out. http://www.exploreproducts.com/plano-gun-cases.htm

The best hard case I have used is the SKB. I have three of them and until something better comes along that is all I will use. They are less expensive and less bulky than the pelicans. The lighter "non flight approved/recommended" cases provide little more protection that a soft case.
