OT-Unusual 10/22 Pretty Cool

Post by Ji in Hawaii »

Since we're on a 10/22 roll I thought some of you may fine this interesting. Here a very unusual but cool one-of-a-kind 10/22 combined to a M1 Tanker Garand stock. Whomever put it together did a very decent job of it though the $850 starting bid price seems a tad optimistic.

Wow, is there nothing a 10/22 can't turn into? 8)

Looks great but the cheapskate in me says it's worth about 1/2 the asking price. But then we don't know how it shoots either. The proof is in the paper. If it shoots one hole groups... well OK. If it's all show and no go, then not by a long shot.

Looks like it might be someone's labor of love.

That looks pretty cool ! Funny the amount of work some of us will put into these little rifles.

I actually prefer yours, Ji ---it looks cleaner and it probably doesn't weigh 9 pounds either

That is downright cool. It would be interesting to see and handle.

Nice looking piece.

How much does it weigh?

FYI, Shooting Times magazine is running a "how to" series of articles by their resident Gunsmith on how to do this...

...Just in case you're interested!!!

(Betcha Pitchy could do it!)

I got the 10/22 bug worked out of my system a while back but that could get me interested again...are the articles available online or print only?

I bet he could too...

My thoughts exactly. Everything from a Gatlin gun to M1 Garand.

The price is more than I would pay for it though. For 850.00 I could get a real M1 Garand.

Remember seeing a kit that'll turn a 10/22 into a Thompson lookalike as well.

I think that is one of the coolest 10/22's I've ever seen, but at 9 lbs. and 850 bucks it's a little too much. I'm not sure if I've ever even heard of a 9-pound .22 before. Goodness!

Me too, but still way cool! The thing to remember is you can shoot a heck of a lot of .22's compared to .30-06's...
