Back now after surgery...
I really doubt anyone missed me since I don't post often but this is my first post since having a major back surgery. My attorney advises me not to say much but my surgeon says my condition and prognosis is "guarded." I guess that is better than saying it failed. I have really missed being able to visit here and hope that if there have been any changes that they are for the better. If there has been any major change in policy or rules hopefully someone will fill me in. I don't think I have been online at all since late June.
This is one of my favorite places to spend time and it seems strange to say but I have missed the people here even though I have never met any of you personally. I know that many of you are God fearing praying people and I do covet your prayers. I had NO idea how much this would take out of my body nor how looooooong recovery will take. Though not an old fellar I ain't as young as I once was but I was/am used to physical labor and I will never be able to do some of those things again. A positive note is that I have been going through withdrawal symptoms from some of the pain meds. This is good because I don't have to have all of them anymore.
Earlier this summer I went through a dark valley of severe depression. I surely feel for those who face that as a constant battle. All in all I find that I am a very blessed man with the most wonderful and loving wife in the world. Our two children, ages seven and six have really been a bright spot for me. My extended family and some close friends have really stood by me as well. When I have been at my lowest it has only taken a phone call to get a host of people praying for me and God Almighty has come through for me every time. It may not have been when or how I wanted it but He has proved Himself faithful to me over and over again.
I thank the peole that make this place "happen" and would appreciate anyones prayers should they think of me as they pray. Thanks.

Goat, I sure will keep in my prayers. Had back surgery twice, mind the doctor, I didn't.

Prayers that you heal up and dont need to go back for follow up to go thru it again later. Do your self the favor and do your physical therapy.

Glad you're back and have the surgery behind you. Heal well. Seems like we learn the most about God in tough times. Sounds like you have grown in that regard and have everything money can't buy.

Re: Back now after surgery...
We all get busy and some times it takes us (me) a while to notice somebody's missing from muster. Sorry to hear about your surgery. Thank God, I've never had back surgery, but I've had five shoulder surgeries and any major surgery is no fun. Prayers sent your way for a speedy recovery and the best of outcomes.

Re: Back now after surgery...
Prayers up Goat. Back surgery is certainly no fun. I'm going on two years since mine. Glad I had it, but I've still got pain each and every day.

Goat prayers said.
But, don't give up on the surgery just yet. After my surgery for the discs at L3 & L4, I didn't get the "immediate" relief the surgeon had predicted. Scared heck out of me. It looked like a failed surgery, as you know, one of the possible out comes. But, about three weeks later, I woke up one morning, and it didn't "hurt". That scared me even more. But, after a few hours, I gingerly took myself to the doc. His take was that there was some other swelling that resulted from the surgery itself, and it had finally just gone down.
So, hang in there buddy.
