OT - Daughter's having our first grandchild

Looking for your prayers and wishes for an uneventful eventful birth of our first grandchild. The daughter just called and said her water broke and she's going home to get her stuff and head to the hospital. The wife and I have a 5.5 hour drive to get to Vancouver, WA from home. Hopefully the little biscuit will wait until we're there. A future levergunner is about to be born.

Congradulations!

I became a Grandfather for the first time three years ago. And my daughter is a week from delivering my second Grandchild, just waiting for the call anyday!

kimwcook, I hope you are more prepared for being a Grandfather than I was, even though my daugher was almost 30 and had been married for a few years. When it actually happened it was so overwhelming for me I was totally unprepared and it came crashing down on me all at once.

U r about to enter a whole new World, U won't believe how attached U can get to those little Buggars be it a Boy or a Girl. I have 2 G-daughters & 5 G-sons and each one has a special place in My Heart. They age from 7 to 26.

Thanks for all the prayers and wishes. Well, we were about half way to the hospital with about two hours left to go when we got a call that the baby was breech and the daughter was going to have to have a C-section because her water had broken and they couldn't manipulate the little bugger. She went into surgery before we could get there, but, we were there when she was brought back to her room. Avery Quinn was born 8 lbs. 5 ounces, 20.5" long and has an excellent set of lungs. Cuter than a bugs ear. Mom and baby are doing fine. Seems like I can't keep a smile off my face. I took about 150 photos, but I don't have my computer, I'm using the wife's laptop, so I don't know where the photo's are. As soon as I do I'll post some pics. My Chief Deputy called and told me he can call me an old grandpa and not have to feel bad about doing it now. As if it really ever bothered him before to call me an old fanny burp.

Had a bad turn yesterday. My BIL lost his father. The BIL was laying sod with him in the morning and his dad, whose diabetic, said he thought his blood sugar was low so he went inside, drank some orange juice and laid down for a nap. He didn't wake up. My SIL was with us so we had to turn around and drive her back home (325 miles). While enroute we were able to get a hold of another BIL and he met us about 80 miles from home and took the SIL the rest of the way. It was an extra 400+ miles and we didn't get back to see the daugher or granddaughter, but we're back in Vancouver and we'll see them today. Don't want another one of those. The BIL was really close with his dad. He's already lost his mother. This is going to be really hard on him.

Ill get the wife to show me where she's got the pics hidden on this laptop and get one up of the daughter and new cutie.
