WOW.....and that wasnt no little pronghorn.....that thing was a beast, and moving too.

Wonder if it was just a case of two things on a collision course or if the Antelope was gunning for him.

I'm here to testify that bike helmets save lives. One saved mine. I was doing 26 mph on a downhill when a passing pick up truck lost a sheet of 3/4" plywood. BAM! instant wall right where I needed to be.

Praise the Lord it was ONLY a bad head injury.

+1 I "lost it" swerving to avoid an oncoming cyclist on a curve of a good but gravelly path in Colorado. Went right over the handlebars and did a head plant, stuffing the bill of the helmet right into some pretty hard earth. Scraped me up pretty badly and a stiff/sore neck for a week, but I lived to walk out of there with a bike that got it worse and tell the story. I don't make fun (as much :) they still look goofy and insubstantial) of the little helmets any more!

Yep. Especially when you watch the slow-motion version.

After watching it again .....and again. The guy does point to the right a few seconds before the animal comes into the picture. Like he seen the animal coming for a good distance before it ran him over.

I think it was very much a warning. Since he didnt lower his head and reall put the horns to him. Guy is lucky.....lucky to walk away and lucky to catch it on film.

He is also lucky this was not a lion or other predator.

So, is 86er going to take a mountain bike to Africa so that his client can be sure to get a good close shot of a Red Hartebeest on his next hunt over there?
