Just tried out some reloads this evening in a M94 BB for the .356 Win. I have limited components on hand so what I used for the first go around was new brass, Win LR primers, Speer 220 gr jacketed FP and IMR 4064. I've only loaded the starting charge of 43.0 gr of IMR 4064 which pret' near filled the case and the new Lyman manual has a max charge of 46.0 gr! It says it's compressed but I heard powder crunching at 43.0 gr. I still need to chorny the load but was wondering if anyone else uses IMR 4064 in the .356 Win and what load they settled on.
Thanks gents!
Edited- Sorry that should have been the Speer manual and 46.0gr max!

Re: Reloading .356 Win for M94 BB?
Been using the 200 gr. Rem. RN that I ding to make a slight flat point (just for insurance, so I don't have a bullet point onto a primer, ps does not really effect accuracy. Been using 3031 in the recommended chg. of up to mid 40 grs......chrono speed is 2330fps in my gun.Honest 2" groups at 100 yds....Deer don't travel very far if you hit them right.afish4570

Don't have any load data written down for the 220 gr. But with 200gr rem and 180gr speer bullets H4198 was the top performer in velocity and accuracy.

Don't worry about powder crunchin'. My 308 110grn load uses 50grn of H4895. Thats a case full to the top!
