Yeah I know, my back yard fence doesn't propel one into the old west or deer woods, but hey, at least it's a levergun!

Yeah but it is a wooden fence!

Hey Terry.....it is a 356 Winchester, with Williams FP rear and Ashley blade front. I shoot it like a warm 35 Remington with cast bullets, and it does well.

Re: Playing with the Camera
Thanks guys.....bought the Winchester new in 1992 while working up in Sequoia National Park. Met my wife of 18 years in that same time/place so it has great memories attached to it. I had to go over into the Forest land to shoot it but it was a great and expensive way to pass the time. Didn't reload for it until about 99 and that's when I discovered cast bullets in a high powered rifle....much fun and much cheaper.
The Bearcat I got from Mike Johnson(RJohns) about a year ago as a backpack pistol. Never thought I would like the way a Bearcat feels in the hand but I have changed my mind. I have yet to wring it out for accuracy, only having shot it offhand, but should be fun.

Re: Playing with the Camera
Over the years we always talk about 'combos' and of course there is one mindset that the revolver/rifle should be of the same chambering, another that they should share same caliber but not cartridge, and yet another that says pairing rimfire rifle and centerfire revolver, or rimfire revolver and centerfire rifle, is the way to go.
Obviously you've chosen the rimfire/centerfire 'combo' - and a really NICE pair for sure...!

Exactly my thought process Doc...makes sense. If I was in a country thick with Bears, might take the Flat Top with the Keith 250's as a backup.

I've never had a Bearcat, shoot mostly centerfire. That may have to change.

If I didn't have a Single Six, a Bearcat would be mandatory (might be anyway)

Re: Playing with the Camera
There is something special about the BC.....lacks the adjustable sight of the SS but points quickly and effortlessly like a fine sixgun should. Small and light enough to carry in a coat pocket yet big enough to be a serious small game platform/back up defense pistol. It and a box of 22's and a guy could eat for a good long while.

Chris, that is a combo a guy could live with a long time. Nicely done. Keep the pics coming.

Yeah every once in a while I realize I just don't need another gun, but then the " illness" kicks right back in....haha. I don't know if I will be able to control the Shiloh urge much longer. Travel well Brother and stay safe.

Very nice photo, Chris!
Who made the knife? I like its size and blade shape. Is the blade hollow ground?

Re: Playing with the Camera
Thanks Victor! The knife is a Shrade Pro Hunter. I don't think it's hollow ground....very thick and hefty, and feels nice in the hand. I keep it very sharp and handy when I'm working with the horses, just in case I need a knife fast.
Here's a pic of another with different handles. This is an earlier USA made one, as is mine....doubt they are made here now, if at all.

Nice photo Chris! Of course you're working with some fine subjects. Nothing wrong with the fence either, I think William Penn called wood "a substance with a soul".

I was sick at heart when Schrade went to China, tho by all accounts, it's still good steel....just the idea, I guess. I don't mind my Cold Steel Jap blades (too much)
