Picked up an old knife with history. Pics & Info added

Post by rangerider7 »

I picked up this old knife this week with some history. I think it could date back to the 1880s or near it. I thought y'all might want to see it. RR7 P.S. I just found out that Captain Bill McDonald of the Texas Rangers ordered one of his famous engraved Colt SAAs from A.J. Anderson's. I'm getting the information now. Here is the site: http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/lot_ ... ID=2072775 :D

What a fine find! And you've got history to go with it, of course. I remember that all my first pocket knives had that little leather awl blade: haven't seen one of them in a while.

Interesting that each blade has the name stamped on it, unlike todays Knives whereas only the main blade is stamped.

That's really neat. I'm drawn to the handle shape. Looks like those blades have been used quite a bit. Classy.

Well if the Colt SAA of Capt. McDonald's went for over $88,000.00 then my knife must be worth uhhhhhh not quite that much.
