No link??? You mean I gotta dig it out myself?
Oh kay then .... I dug it out.
I like the lines of the rifle, but I don't like the chrome plated receiver.
That would reflect light every which way.

Re: silverboy
Jes a thought; whenever Henry rifles are mentioned, (today's Henry) a bunch of folks get riled up here about "not original" "stolen name" "not even a copy of original" and go on and on about it. Now here's a rifle by a foreign manufacturer that admits it is "all original" (meaning is isn't even a copy of a "real" Henry) and "classic styling" (meaning from a distance it lt's shaped like an original) and is chrome plated!. Where's the rightous indignation? Where's the accusations? This foreign made, chrome plated lever gun, seems to be getting some good feed back so far...

Not only that, the receiver is not steel. It's something else. Probably recycled beer can aluminum.mikld wrote:Jes a thought; whenever Henry rifles are mentioned, (today's Henry) a bunch of folks get riled up here about "not original" "stolen name" "not even a copy of original" and go on and on about it. Re: silverboy
Uberti makes no claims to being in direct lineage of Colt, Remington, Winchester or new Haven Arms, yet they do make fairly faithful copies of those maker's arms. Rather direct and honest.
Whereas, Henry Repeating Arms makes a shadowy claim of same. All from the son of the man that was the head of Iver Johnson... a former competitor of Colt and S&W, and at the time of their demise, an assembler of other's guns. (Colt's licensed IJ to build and finish the "Signature" Series of Colt's BP revolvers from parts left over from the 1970-80's Colt 2nd Series). Those relationships and inter-twinnings are neither unsavory nor unknown, and I, for one, would cast no stones.
If Imperato had named his new company Iver Johnson or anything else for that matter, and offered up he was now making US produced guns, in the case of the .22, the German manufactured (& I believe, also designed by ERMA) lever gun. Even if he'd called it a "Henry .22", who'd really care? Just as his dad had imported their .22 version of the M-1 Carbine, my disdain would be... well... non-existant. But, frankly, his arrogance in claiming a legacy from B. Henry Tyler and ergo, his companies new name... that insults the intelligence.
That's strictly my opinion. You're welcome to ignore it and develop one of your own.

nothing a 50% discount and a rattle can can't fix.
it does have a controlled round feed, which qualifies it as an African plains rifle.

I like it, why all the contraversy? Bit pricey though, but I don't that will hold once it hits the shelves.

Re: silverboy
have several uberti made weapons love them and the steel they are made from is as good or better than some of our us made weapons and finished a heck of alot better and fitted better. shame some of the us companies don't do more to make theirs look and function better.

i shoot thousands of rounds thru them every year and they are a lot better than any beer can i have yet to find a us made gun that is as well made or functions as well. the us made guns except the usfa made pistols are junk for the most part as they don't care about quality here i the us anymore. what a shame.
Re: silverboy
I kind of like it but it is priced about 1/3 more than I am willing to pay for it.

I'm hoping that comes down after they hit the market.

I gotta disagree. I've got a S&W that's as good as anything made anywhere. I'm sure the Freedom Arms would find fault with your preceptions also. I've even got a Colt or two that's as rock solid as any USFA or other copy of it. And my Shiloh... well, they're in a class of their own. I'll take any one of these US made guns over most imports any day of the week.willygene wrote:i shoot thousands of rounds thru them every year and they are a lot better than any beer can i have yet to find a us made gun that is as well made or functions as well. the us made guns except the usfa made pistols are junk for the most part as they don't care about quality here i the us anymore. what a shame.

Now THAT is a great looking .22 levergun. I cannot understand why they didn't sell thousands of them. I would have bought one if I ever would have seen one.

Re: silverboy
Taurus stopped making them before they even had a chance to sell many. I bought mine as soon as they came out, and not long afterwards they disappeared from wholesalers inventories. They done that with several of their firearms like their pump centerfires. I haven't a clue.
