(photo’s) PA. Trout, Opening Day…

Post by cshold »

The stream is about 15 min. from home. (Yep! big gas savings :) )
It was a very overcast misty (rainy) morning. :|
Came away with a real nice rainbow & a nice brown. :D
Should have had a third one, but the hook decided to depart from the line. :x
There was a slammin nice Palomino in this hole but I just couldn’t
get that bugger to bite on what I offering. (I’ll be back for him  )

Just old plain-Jane ‘Mike’s Salmon eggs’
Wish I had some worms with me to try on that ol’ Palomino.

NICE FISH! I got a 20 inch rainbow in the first couple of minutes this morning and then it pretty much quit. I did have a couple of happy fishermen though, I made fried donuts on the bank of the creek and hot donuts and coffee, made for a good day even in the mist

Nice trout !

But bottled slamon eggs and talk of "worms" OMG

Trout should be caught with dry flies on split cane fly rods

And preferably on #16 hooks or smaller

The only fish I can catch is at Cubs or Walmart. What is a Palomino?

Trout season is always open around here and we get both local Rainbow and sea run Steelhead, as well a Salmon and Brownies. All with a very short bike ride or drive. :)

What is cool about where I live(course one of the many)
Our absolutely fantastic Trout stream is (year round season)---any size(limit 2 over 12")
Very abundant and have both stocked and native.
Sometimes fishing and wife can call me to supper from the house.
Whether it being Christmas Day/Fall/Summer/Spring(very cool)
In fact quite close to where I live is a section that is considered one of the finest trout stream sections(in the country)
People come from all over the United States to fish it(that section has a season)which starts today.

Glad you were able to get out and go fishing. Not much of a fisherman myself. I've never heard of a palomino let alone seen one. That's different.
