Huge chem trails over the Antelope Valley - tornadoes gone wild in Texas - Hmmm, what were those folks saying?

Yep, we are trying to dodge tornados at the moment, but it is those chem trails that most worry me! :D

I'm scheduled to attend a FEMA conference there this Thursday ---- gonna make finding a hotel a bear now -- i should have made a reservation earlier.

But on the flip side - a bit of inconvenience for me is a trifle matter compared to someone who has damage to their home

Looks like that Forney tornado headed north up into Joe's (86er) neighborhood.

I hope he and his family are safe.

A pun for every occassion.

Got enough of the storm to get the dogs upset. Wet, windy, no hail.

Did OK in my neigborhood. Thanks for asking.

I think Ricky K. and Charles (CRS) might be getting a good soaking right about now.

That Forney tornado touched down about 3 miles north of me. I must have been on the very southern edge of the storm, because I didn't hardly get anything here, just a little lightning and some rain. I hope Joe and the other guys in his area faired well.

TOUCHDOWN -

I've been away from home for 6 weeks and just made it back 15 minutes before the storm hit. The kids came home from school and we got the neighbors and sought shelter. Griff just called me from NJ (but he lives within a football throw of me). Thanks for the concern. We just came out of our storm room with our neighbor and her kids. The tornado touched down 0.4 miles from our front door. The hail was up to baseball sized. I havent gone out to assess any damage, but it looks okay from the view out the windows. A rescue is underway in a neighborhood off of Honey Creek just one mile away. The neighborhood is in bad shape there and there are concerns of victims being stuck in the mess. When things are stable here I'll go over there to help. That's hail on the lawn.

Just got off the phone with Joe, all is well, family well, just nervous. A tornado touched down about ½ mile south of him... which would put it about 1-¾ mile north of me. Several apparently touched down in the eastern Dallas and points east.

Joe sez he has electricity (short outage for about 15 or 20 minutes); but, mine's still apparently out, as they only have a very weak cell signal and the new phones require electricity. I gather from the message I got, as they didn't say anything was wrong... but knowing my wife... she'd simply say, "what can you do from out in NJ!" I hope that either the wife or son remembers about my small generator for such events... it's been several years since the electricity has been out for any extended period of time.

Praying for everyone else's well-being in the area also.

Oh good, he posted up the pic!

One went about a mile from my house near Greenville, shook my wife up a little but all is well. I understand the area between 86er and I may have received the worst of it all, Union Valley/Poetry area. Reports of a lot of damage, several roads closed due to debris. I'm out of town on business. Prayers up for all concerned.

Glad to hear all are well. All we had in Farmersville was two inches of rain which is always welcome.

We are 140 miles due east of Dallas and for the past 3 hours it has been a mess. Right now a big hail storm, very high winds and flooding rain is pitching a fit. My Florida raised wife of 35 years just headed for the inside closet with a flashlight and her purse......looks like another couple of hours and then a new day.....y'all take care....

Wish I'd put a 'storm room' (or even a basement) in my house when I built it... :|
