mares leg

Post by two bit okie »

take a rossi mares leg and drill a hole in the butt stck about 3 inches deep.

take a steel rod, say 3/8", no threads, and weld a flat plate on one end. so that when you slide the steel rod in the hole you can put the mares leg in you safe or gun rack and it will the fit the rifle slots.

technically speaking it is only for a stacking or storing use. would this be a short barreled rifle since it is not attached, only slid into the stock?

It seems like the news reports the past few years indicate the Burn All The Families units are more interested in finding 'technical violations' than in actually catching violent criminals, so I'd be wary of doing ANYTHING they could make a front-page headline when some local LEO gets jealous of your gun collection and wants to assist in a raid on your home, in exchange for some of the leftovers... :|

This is from;

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives DEFINITIONS
An NFA firearm is made if aggregated parts are in close proximity such that they: (a) serve no useful purpose other than to make an NFA firearm (e.g., a receiver, an attachable shoulder stock, and a short barrel); or (b) convert a complete weapon into an NFA firearm (e.g., a pistol and attachable shoulder stock, or a long-barreled rifle and attachable short barrel). Id. at 511-13.
All you have to do is convince them that it's only useful purpose is so it will fit your safe. :roll:

"convince them"... famous last words...remember to bring your layer and a change of clothes...and ask a loved one to put $20.00 on the commissary books for you...food in jail sucks, especially on the weekends... :)

What's that old rule... ? Oh...

Always Think Forfeiture

:idea:
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.
