Compensated Glock

Post by azmark »

Has anyone shot one of the 'compensated' Glocks? They are factory ported.

I've got a Kahr P40. After I bought it I went to the Kahr website and bought a factory compensated barrel for $100.
It makes a big difference on a .40 S&W that weighs 16 oz empty. I also installed a Limbsaver stick on recoil pad for pistols.
Together they took away a lot of the felt recoil and muzzle lift.

The C model Glocks do reduce some of the muzzle rise in the higher velocity loads, I've shot the 17C, 20C, 21C and 22C, and I think a 23C sometime in the past.

Due to the porting, if you shoot from a close retention position without canting the pistol, you can also burn yourself.
Training issue, primarily.

From what I've read it does increase the muzzle flash a bit.

Never thought the compensator (Factory) did enough to be viable except in competition/hunting use myself.

I have, was a long slide 9mm. Did seem any different than a regular one. Liked the longer barrel more than anything else
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

I have a Glock 21c. I love it. It has less recoil than my buddies s&w .40 semiauto. You really can't see the port flash during the day outside, but can't miss it when you in the dark or a dimly lit area.If you are just target shooting or want a just a in case weapon in the woods, you would be good to go. A lot of leo's don't like them because of the flash in poor lit areas. :)
