twisted and I are still here!

Post by n2t »

Hope you all didn't forget about me. Still around just ended up posted to afghanistan. But Amanda/twistedserpent was kind enough to fill the freezer for me. One nice buck at 100 yards with a heart shot, and a doe at 50 in the neck. Cal is 7mm-08, savage axis, weaver 44/40 3-9x40 scope and a pretty stout charge under the 139grn hornady sst.

Not a bad second day of the season, now she's looking forward to elk. She's deadly with that axis, can't wait to get home and try the steaks!

Good for her. You stay safe as possible. I had a good time hunting with the both of you back on that hog hunt in the mud soup a couple of years ago. I look forward to hearing when you come home safe and with all original limbs still attached.

Thanks guys, really impressed with what that 7-08 can do. I think she's got a winning combo there. I'm hoping she gets a crack at an elk with it soon. Going to have to come back in a few months and see what the 300 savage can do. And maybe hit up 86er and the group for another pig hunt. Hope to see you guys there, won't be this feb but I'll definitely keep my eyes open for when I get back.
