Nice deal on a new Marlin 336 in 30-30

Post by TCB in TN »

Stopped by the local Wally World today and found that they had marked down the new Marlin 336s down to $318.99. I was surprised, they had been up closer to $400 a few weeks ago. I didn't buy one (I have bought a couple of near new ones recently), but as I was standing there looking at it, I wondered if it wasn't a response from the new Marlin/Remmy/ Cerebus entity to the recent introduction of the Mossy Lever gun. Nice quality, didn't notice a blemish on it, and it cycled smooth as silk. Has anyone else noticed this or is this just local?

Well, I don't know what it's like in Tennessee but here the 336's are(and have been) $318.47.

They were $299.98 back in the day, but I believe inflation and the fact they throw in a sling now have pushed it up where it's at.

I have 3 Wally Worlds here in town, and not a single one has guns any longer. If they did I would probably have one of those Marlins!

All the wally worlds around here got rid of their guns several years ago. The still have a few boxes of ammo laying around from time to time though.

Wow I had to pay $379.00 on sale here at the Big 5. Sounds like a great deal.

My local Walmart has the 336A (no frills birch stock) for the same price.

Looked again last night it was the 336W with the Checkered stock. Looked and felt pretty nice.
