What gift?

Post by jnyork »

So, this is the deal: You can only get one gift this year. It will be gun-related. It will cost less than $100.00. You will be exceedingly pleased to receive it. What's your pleasure?

I'll start off:

Book- "Marlin Firearms: A History of the Guns and the Company that Made Them" by William S. Brophy

About $55.00 or so new at Amazon.

An old bolt action 20 gauge that needs some TLC would keep me amused over Christmas.... :)

I'm easy, a brick of CCI MiniMags. Maybe two if you can get them for less than $50.

I would be happy with lead, bullets, cci musket caps for my sharps, or a swiveless sling for my favorite levergun

Agreed. I'd love to have about $100 worth of powder. That would be about 5 lbs, I guess.

Yep, I can make most anything else, and I have a pretty good supply of parts. But, I've really had to curtail my .22 rimfire use. I've read it possible to reload .22 rimfires. But the hassle just wasn't worth it. Seems like some enterprising fellow could come up with a set of dies, molds for the bullets (heck most of us cast anyway), and a way to prime them (maybe some was to spin the case and a priming compound paste).

I'd like 4 - NRA annual memberships ($25 each) to give to new shooters.

Funny thing, I still hear a lot of complaints on obtaining .22 ammo. Relax, as it's coming. Due to location and previous years buying, my bud is always the first to get allotments and anything new and it grows from there. He has pallets of .22 Remington and .22 CCI ammo now.

And yes, I see that many people have run out of money and the inventory of all things guns is building.

When the Republicans take over the Senate and gain even more seats in the House during the midterm elections, prices will drop.------6

Best suggestion yet...!

I just want health and togetherness for my family; if it takes $100 worth of ammo for a get-together-shoot like we often have in spring and fall (and summer and winter), then so be it...
