Re: Happy Birthday Shasta.
Thanks for the kind wishes, guys. I turned 63 today. Been retired three years and lovin' it!
I celebrated with a wonderful breakfast at Old Mill Eatery in Shasta Lake City (we seldom eat out so this is a special treat). Dropped the wife off at home, went to the local Sportsman's Warehouse to check for some gunpowder (none in yet), and then went to my favorite slobber shop, Olde West Gun & Loan in Redding, CA.
I recently bought a Springfield Armory XD40c from them and I really like it, so asked if they had anything similar in .45 ACP caliber. So happens they had just got one in, but had not got it in the display case yet, so the salesman goes in the back and brings it out. Ohhhh, it is nice, and under $600 out the door! I sold one of my old Winchesters yesterday, so had the money. Happy Birthday indeed!
Unfortunately due to Kalifornia's stupid one-handgun-a-month law, I can't do any paperwork until after December 15, then a 10 day wait after that, so won't get it in hand until just after Christmas.
Still, it's a very good day for me!
