358's

Post by Marlin32 »

Man, where are all the 358's at??
Have been cruising internet for a BLR pistol grip 358, there are none. Big dealers say out of stock.
I can find the BLR 81, but don't want that one.

Not many savage 99's around either, and are selling in the 1500 and up range.

Methinks you're shoveling sand against the tide.

AFAIK, there are NO pistol-gripped .358 BLR's that are not BLR-81's, since before the BLR-81, all the BLR's had straight grip buttstocks.

Soooooo, anyone wanting a .358 that's not a BLR-81, is limited to an earlier straight-grip BLR.

Yep. Technically the Lightnings are not 81s. You don't want the pre-81 anyway. Mags are over two bills. The 81 and later are equally or more strong than the pre-81 due to the fact that the pre-81s lock the bolt into the receiver and the 81s and Lightnings lock the bolt into the barrel itself.
Kind regards,
Tycer

Look here young man. The only thing you need to do to obtain what you are gleefully looking for is to send me $1200 plus $40 for shipping and insurance and this like new Savage will be pleasantly delivered to your favorite FFL.

I was about to take pictures to put this on Guns America for $1400 but a short sale here means I pay no posting fees or answer the questions of a dozen of whack jobs who just ask stupid questions and have no real desire to buy......so.....the $1200 price.

The rifle is a tack driver, especially with cast bullets. I logged 144 rounds out of it and quit shooting it because is boringly accurate.....guaranteed. Plus I have another half dozen of other 35 caliber rifles.

You asked.........I answered.......
For Sale
Model 99 358
Condition.....like new with marks that are so small that keep it from being sold "as new"
Date of manufacture----about 1978
Mechanics.....excellent
Tang safety
Cartridge counter on left side
Factory installed recoil pad
Options.......Quality one piece Redfield scope mount and rings
Price....$1200 plus $40 shipping and insurance
FFL needed?.......yes

Marlin 32 gets first dibs. We will let him answer first. :D

Does NOT come with the Leupold....only the mount and rings

Caliber markings

some are having a 99 rebored ... not sure if the barrel is thick enough
but it's still cheaper ..
