Paco Has a Birthday this week

Wednesday I believe it is. I talked with him today. It has been a hard transition since Barbara died. 50+ years of marriage and now he's single. Thankfully his daughters look in on him and make sure everything is OK .. plus his 'son' Rico calls and drops in each week.

I am in the States for about a month but won't be able to get out to see him. It sure was good to hear his voice though.

Few among us attain the 'legend' status, but Paco ranks up there with Elmer Keith and Jack O'Connor and the like, only most importantly for us, he pursued his excellence with LEVERGUNS... :D

Happy Birthday to my old friend and brother .. Paco. I know it aint been easy lately.


For those that asked, in Africa we are not physically close to Sierra Leone or Liberia where the outbreak of ebola is. They are on the western coast and we are all the way across the continent on the eastern coast. Further than from LA to New York. In this day of rapid travel however even halfway around the world is reachable in 24 hours so in one sense, everyone is close. The nations in Africa are doing what they can to check travelers. It surely is a time to be praying!
