First ducks of the season

Post by stew71 »

I managed to get out to the blind Saturday morning for a few hours just as the first rains of the season rolled through. The sun peeked through the clouds right at sunrise.

About 10 minutes later, the wind and rain picked up, and got the ducks moving. Managed to put a pair of mallards and a hen gadwall in the bag using the same beat-up Mossberg 500 that my dad gave me back in 1981.

Nice bag !

"Bluebird" weather = "No" waterfowl.

They always seem to fly in inclement weather.

That's a mighty nice spread there stew. I made it out the weekend before last. Got some pintails, widgeon, and mallards. First time I been out in many years.

The set up. Didn't make a pic of the dead things.
